Our mission is to be the base camp for anyone in the UK who wants to make, experience, or support new music and sound to shape the modern world.
For over 15 years, we have worked with thousands of music creators and hundreds of organisations to boost musical creativity, careers, cultures, and communities across the UK.
Reducing barriers and championing inclusion underpins everything we do driven by our sector leading Fair Access Principles. We are proud of our record progressing equity and representation within new music in the UK.
Sound and Music is supported by Arts Council England and proud to be a National Youth Music Organisation.

In Motion is our flagship artist development programme. It's for original music creators at the frontiers of new music who are ready for a transformational step change in their creative practice and career.

In the Making is the UK's only year-long artist development programme for passionate and ambitious young music creators aged 14–18 who are looking to push their creativity and musical horizons even further.

The new music platform for UK-based music creators to represent themselves and their works for potential commissioners, partners, researchers and anyone with an interest in the ever evolving new music ecology in the UK.

Our unique education platform with collections of 60 second pieces of music and sound designed to activate young people’s creative listening and musical discovery skills, while providing a creative means of making sense of the world around them.
The Sampler Mixtape is our weekly radio show showcasing exciting and eclectic new music from across the whole spectrum, hosted by a different creator or collaborator from across our community each week.
