Sound and Music welcomes Victor Wei Te Li to the Board as our newest Trustee.
Victor brings a diverse and international professional background spanning finance, media and digital strategy. Born and raised in Sydney, Australia, he began his career in consumer goods, working across both retail and manufacturing with a strong focus on financial analysis. He later transitioned into television production, partnering on globally recognised programmes including MasterChef, Survivor, Big Brother and NCIS.
Alongside his work in media, Victor qualified as a Chartered Accountant and Lean Practitioner trained in optimising organisational efficiency, performance and value. After relocating to the UK, he completed an MBA at the University of Cambridge and now partners TikTok’s user growth business strategy teams, focusing on the global expansion of its e-commerce business.
Victor brings further expertise and acumen to our highly engaged and ambitious Board of Trustees as we head into the new business year and the fourth in our strategy, The Trail.
Victor said:
“I’ve played the piano since I was four and have always been deeply passionate about the creative arts. Sound and Music’s mission to champion and nurture new musical talent resonates so strongly with me and I am now incredibly excited to leverage my background in financial strategy in support.
I look forward to being part of our work supporting and amplifying exceptional and innovative creators to thrive in a rapidly changing landscape and ensure the future of new music in the UK.”
Will Dutta, Chief Executive, said:
“Victor’s breadth of expertise in finance, media and digital strategy and his international perspective will be invaluable as we continue to drive innovation and enterprise at Sound and Music. His appointment speaks to the need to respond creatively to rapidly changing contexts and we look forward to working closely with him as we progress towards our 20th anniversary year in 2028.”
