Looking to refresh your ideas and strategies for teaching composing with secondary-aged students? The Listen Imagine Compose partnership is running a series of free, monthly, professional development events!

Every month, we’re offering twilight sessions via Zoom covering practical ideas for composing, music technology, decolonising the curriculum and much more. Our next session is set to take place on Tuesday, May 25th from 4 – 6pm.

In this session, we will be looking at equality and inclusion in composing. How can we as educators support students from different backgrounds to be composers? How can we encourage both girls and boys to participate? And, as we (hopefully) enter a period of Covid-recovery, how can we use composing to support students’ mental health?

Expect the usual combination of food for thought, presentations and an opportunity to discuss with colleagues how you can include all your students as composers.

If you’re a secondary school teacher looking to refine your approach to composing in the classroom, be sure to sign up for this session, or read more about our upcoming sessions.
