We’re delighted to announce the release of Sound and Music (Vol. 1) – our first ever compilation album available now on Bandcamp!
Sound and Music (Vol. 1) is a wide-ranging collection of tracks donated by composers from our programmes, including everyone from Summer School students right up to established composers such as Supriya Nagarajan, Seán Clancy and Claudia Molitor.
The album is a testament to the breadth of work supported by Sound and Music with everything from sonic art by Jobina Tinnemans and choral music by Michael Betteridge, to instrumental works by Marc Yeats and Ailís Ní Ríain, film scores from our Summer School students and field recordings from Jez riley French.
Each track has been donated by an artist whose own artistic journey has been supported by Sound and Music, and all of the profits from the sale of the album will go straight back into our work supporting composers to realise their full potential.
It’s out now and today is the final Bandcamp Friday of the year, so your purchase will go even further as Bandcamp waives their fees for the next 24 hours.

“Without Sound and Music, I do wonder where I would be today as a composer. The many schemes I’ve been involved with have not only helped me develop my compositional voice and expand my network, but allowed me to really interrogate who I am as an artist and why I do what I do.”
- Michael Betteridge, composer and album contributor
