In this Q&A, we speak to In Motion 2025 composer, Bilge Nur Yilmaz, a Turkish-born composer, vocalist, and interdisciplinary artist working as Tendertwin. Blending ambient folk and microtonal textures, her work explores themes of belonging, grief, and transformation. Her debut EP “Ship Argo,” inspired by mythology and memory, received acclaim on BBC Radio 4, BBC Radio 6, and Clash Magazine.

A virtuoso of the mbira and marimba, he is the innovator of the 26-key Pfumojena Extended Karimba Mbira.
