Kamea (Summer School)
We support music educators who work with children and young people, so they can empower them to compose and create their own music. We have a range of professional development opportunities, resources and advice for teachers and music leaders. We also signpost educators to other opportunities and resources created by other organisations that augment and complement our own work.
We also advocate that composing and creating music should be at the heart of every child’s music education. We support this work through national activity such as our #CanCompose campaign, and we are working with partners to create a network of support for young composers and those who educate them.

A digital listening resource bringing primary school age pupils together to listen, explore and think. In a world that's more and more visually overwhelming, Minute of Listening helps pupils develop their creative listening skills.

#CanCompose outlines the findings of our National Music Educators’ Survey, the first of its kind in the UK. It reveals the significant barriers faced by young people looking to create their own music and makes recommendations on the changes needed to remove them.
Creating research, resources and training opportunities, the Listen Imagine Compose partnership provides support for teachers wanting to develop and enrich their approaches to teaching composing at KS3, 4 and 5.
This new partnership will work with primary school teachers and composers to develop meaningful, relevant composing activity for children and improve the quality of composing in primary schools.
Made for young people aged 13 – 19 but great for learners of all ages, our composer masterclasses offer insights into creating, producing and promoting your own music. Created for our first-ever Digital Summer School, they explore new ways of making music with some of the most exciting professional composers, artists, producers and music creators in the UK today.
An annual, 7-day intensive residential (delivered digitally in 2020) for young composers and creative musicians aged 14-18. Led by professional composers and musicians, this unique week helps young composers develop their musical voices and skills in a creative, collaborative and supportive environment.
A national network of workshops, programmes and events giving young people opportunities to make and showcase their own music and learn from professional composers, producers and musicians.
