Laura Shipsey is a UK based composer of acoustic concert music, as well as multidimensional installations and semi-improvisatory game pieces. Her work explores approaches to form, multiplicity, networks and animal behaviour, and has been performed by ensembles and artists including the Alpaca Ensemble, Aldworth Philharmonic Orchestra, Cambridge, Heidelberg, Montpellier Youth Orchestra, Taceti Ensemble, pianist Ana Beatriz Ferreira and violinist Fenella Humphreys.
Laura’s first work for brass band ‘Of Far Flung Skies’ – a collaboration with the City of Bristol Brass Band as part of Sound and Music and Making Music’s Adopt a Composer scheme, was premiered at St. George’s Hall, Bristol, in 2021.
