Kay Logan is a Glaswegian musician, composer, and audio engineer. Her neoclassical and musique concrete work has been exhibited on BBC Radio 3, BBC 6 Music, and Österreich 1. Her involvement in grassroots punk, dance, and noise music has received critical acclaim from publications such as The Wire, and her production work has been shortlisted for the Scottish Album of the Year Award. She currently runs a digital archive label, producing an hour or more of original recordings for subscribers every month, and collaborates alongside local musicians in a variety of groups.
In June 2021 Kay received one of Sound and Music’s COVID-19 Composer Awards:
“I’m very thankful that this grant is available to support working class artists during such an unprecedented time of economic difficulty. I believe in such periods we should strive not to forget the primacy of the imaginal and its providence of meaning in our lives, and the support of artists and cultural endeavors is essential to this.”
